The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Divine Bosson, together with Mr. Francis Augustus Badu and Madam Delphine Dogbega, both representing Ghana Gas Company Limited, came together to initiate the construction of an artificial football field (AstroTurf) at the Ho Technical University campus in Ho.

Addressing participants, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the facility when completed would play a significant role in nurturing sporting talents within the municipality and the Volta Region. He emphasized the value of these talents as a source of boosting the local economy, even in the absence of major factories and industries.

He called on the residents especially the football community to work in close collaboration to ensure the successful completion of this project.

Mr. Francis Augustus Badu, the Community Relations Manager of Ghana Gas Company Limited noted that the project is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, aiming to enhance community development and stimulate socio-economic activities.

The Vice Chancellor of the Ho Technical University (HTU), Professor Ben Q. Hoenyenuga, said that the project would contribute positively to the university’s reputation. He believed the choice of the university campus as the project’s location was highly appropriate.

The project which is being funded by the Ghana Gas Company Limited will feature a standard artificial turf, advanced sensors, and floodlights, and it is expected to be completed within six months.

Ho, August 17, 2023.

The Ho Central Prisons in collaboration with the Apostolic Church of Ghana and the MTN Ghana Foundation on Thursday 17^th August 2023 commissioned an ultra-modern barbering saloon.

The short commissioning ceremony was attended by representatives from various stakeholders including the Regional Security Council. Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, the General Overseer of the Apostolic Church noted that, beyond skills acquisition for the inmates, he is hopeful that, proceeds from the saloon would contribute to enhancing the quality of meals provided to those in the cells.

In their respective addresses, both the Director General of the Ghana Prison Service, represented by DDP. Raphael Tuekpe, and the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho represented by Mr. Henry Amesimeku, expressed their gratitude to the Church for their kind gesture, emphasizing their hope that, the saloon would play a pivotal role in advancing the prison’s agenda for skill development and rehabilitation.

Ho, 17^th August 2023 – The Ho Bankoe E.P. Primary School organized an open day celebration to raise funds to support the construction of a modern 3-seater washroom for the kindergarten department. The event showcased the school’s commitment to providing enhanced facilities for its young learners and fostering a conducive learning environment.

Mr. Edward Hodowu, Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC), emphasized the importance of nurturing children, who he described as society’s treasures. He lauded the school’s efforts and achievements, highlighting their recent victory in the circuit quiz competition organized for all E.P. schools as part of the 2023 education week celebration.

Mr. Michael Kofi Aborta, Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), expressed concerns about the rising levels of indiscipline and student lateness. He called for a comprehensive approach to tackle these challenges effectively from their roots.

In his address, read by Mr. Richmond Abake, the Public Relations Officer, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Divine R.K. Bosson, acknowledged the current government policies against corporal punishment in schools. He encouraged the PTA to collaborate and draft a memorandum that outlines a minimal level of disciplinary action to be taken in schools, considering the existing policies.

Hon. Divine R.K. Bosson, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, has on Friday 24^th July 2023 donated sports kits to the finalists of a thrilling football match during the recent inter-school sporting activities—the event aimed to promote camaraderie and healthy competition among regional schools.

In a show of appreciation for their outstanding performances, the MCE presented a set of jerseys and a football to each of the finalists, Mawuli School and Sonrise Senior High School. The final match, which saw an intense display of skills and teamwork, concluded with Mawuli School securing a resounding 2-0 victory against Sonrise Senior High School, earning them the prestigious championship title.

In addition to the finalists’ recognition, the MCE extended his generosity by presenting a football to the third-place school.

Addressing participants, Hon. Divine R.K. Bosson expressed his delight in witnessing the immense talent and passion among the young sportsmen. He emphasized the crucial role of sports in nurturing discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills in the youth, helping them to become well-rounded individuals.

Traditional authorities from Ho Heve, led by Togbe Anikpi III, the esteemed Chief of the area, along with Sohefia Sefadzi Agama (Hon), the Assembly member for Bosontoe Electoral area, paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, Hon. Divine R.K. Bosson, on Monday, 8th August 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss relevant issues pertaining to the development of the Municipality, with a particular focus on the Heve enclave.

Togbe Anikpi III conveyed the concerns and aspirations of the community to the MCE, highlighting their desire for sustainable development and progress. The meeting allowed the traditional authorities to engage with the municipal leadership, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual understanding.

Evangelical University College EPUC Ho SRC Presents Citation to MCE Hon Divine R.K. Bosson During Glittering Awards Night.

On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Evangelical University College EPUC Ho joined hands with Exclusively Classic Events and Media Services to host an illustrious awards night. The ceremony aimed to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of key students, deans, and political leaders towards the growth and development of the university college.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of a citation to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, Hon Divine R.K. Bosson. The recognition was a testament to his unwavering support and availability to the SRC since taking office.

During the ceremony, dignitaries including Ms. Vivian Akoto, Dean of Students Affairs, EPUC staff, and former EPUC SRC Executives graced the occasion. Ho, Volta Region, 24^th July 2023 – The Ho Municipality received an esteemed guest as Prof. Francis Kasolo, the Country Director for the World Health Organization (WHO), paid a working visit to the region. The visit aimed to strengthen the collaboration between the WHO and local authorities in advancing public health initiatives within the municipality.

Prof. Kasolo began the visit with a courteous call to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), where fruitful discussions on health-related matters took center stage. The meeting served as an opportunity to explore potential avenues for bolstering healthcare infrastructure and services to benefit the residents.

Later, a meeting with the public health emergency management committee of the Ho Municipal Assembly was convened, drawing together key stakeholders invested in the region’s healthcare. The discussions centered on further enhancing the health facilities and services to meet the growing demands of the population.

In his welcoming remarks, the MCE, Hon. Richard R.K. boson proudly announced the municipality’s attainment of the prestigious “one community one health facility” status. This notable achievement reflects a significant step forward in ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services for all residents. The MCE acknowledged the critical role played by the WHO and expressed hope for their continued support in equipping these health facilities.

Ho – 24^th July 2023

A state-of-the-art medical waste treatment plant was commissioned at Akrofu Agorve in the Ho Municipality on Friday 21^st July 2023.

Addressing participants, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mahama Asei Seini, asserted that the facility will effectively address public health concerns in the Volta region. The Minister highlighted the potential health hazards posed by improper medical waste management, such as incineration, landfill disposal, and reusing of medical waste. He emphasized that the advanced Microwave Treatment Equipment (Ecosteryl) installed at the facility will ensure the safe treatment of hazardous waste, safeguarding public health.

With a daily treatment capacity of 5,000Kg (5 tons) of hazardous waste, the facility is expected to create around 200 direct and indirect job opportunities for residents in the region. Praising the support of President Akufo-Addo in enabling private sector development, the Executive Director of the Jospong Group of Companies (Environment and Sanitation Cluster), Mr. Said Haidar, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing public health services, including mosquito population control and Covid-19 disinfection.

According to Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, the newly commissioned facility will cater for health facilities in the region and its surroundings, contributing to minimizing health risks and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on health and well-being.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Divine R.K. Bosson indicated that the facility would go a long way to support the “Oxygen City” project being undertaken by the Municipal Assembly.

The Paramount Queen Mother of Akrofu Traditional Area, Mamaga Akua Sebea Nyabor VII, expressed her gratitude to the Jospong Group of Companies and President Akufo-Addo for bringing the medical waste treatment facility to her community. However, she made an appeal to the government to construct the road leading to the facility to facilitate its accessibility and usage.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, Honorable Divine R.K. Bosson, called for collaborative action between all stakeholders in empowering girls as a way of curbing violence against them. He made the call during a Gender Equality Project Launch organized by the E.P. Church Ghana as a special guest. He emphasized the importance of promoting gender equality and combating harmful practices against girls, such as child marriages and female genital mutilation. The MCE recognized the role of education in empowering girls and urged collaborative efforts from the government, civil society, and individuals. He highlighted the relevance of Sustainable Development Goal 5 which calls for Gender Equality and serves as our guiding framework in striving for a world where women and girls have equal rights and opportunities. Additionally, SDG 10, which emphasizes Reduced Inequalities, reinforces the need to address gender disparities and discrimination in all its forms.

The Regional Director of Gender, representatives from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and officials from the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) jointly called for the strengthening of the legal frameworks relevant for the protection of vulnerable girls.
