First Site Meeting Held for the 24-Hour Economy Market Project
Yesterday , we held our first official site meeting for the construction of the Ho 24-Hour Economy Market. The meeting brought together the Municipal Coordinating Director,project consultants, contractors, engineers.
I am pleased to report that the project is taking off smoothly, with all parties demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering quality work within the agreed timelines. This marks another important step in our collective effort to boost trade, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the municipality.
We remain committed to closely monitoring the project to ensure it is executed to the highest standards for the benefit of our people.
Together, we are building a stronger and more prosperous Ho Municipality.
A major relief is on the way for residents of Adzimakofe as reconstruction works on the damaged drain are currently underway.
This important intervention will help improve the flow of stormwater, reduce flooding, and enhance safety for residents and road users in the area, especially during the rainy season.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the community as we work together to build a safer and more resilient Adzimakofe.
Following yesterday’s heavy downpour, the bridge currently under construction at Hodzo Aviefe was flooded due to the excessive volume of rainwater.
We wish to inform residents and road users to exercise extreme caution when using the area, as movement may be temporarily affected while assessments and necessary remedial works are carried out.
We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of the community as efforts are being made to ensure the safety of all and the timely completion of the project
The Ho Municipal Assembly was honoured to host the launching of Government’s flagship programme, Nkuko Nkitinkiti, on behalf of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council.
This important initiative reflects Government’s commitment to empowering farmers, promoting local poultry production, creating jobs, and strengthening food security across the country.

The Ho Municipal Assembly has officially handed over the site for the commencement of the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market in Ho at Titrinu to Georotche Company Ltd.
This marks an important step towards improving trade, creating jobs, and enhancing economic activities within the municipality. The Assembly is confident that the contractor will execute the project efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe for the benefit of the people of Ho and its environs.
We look forward to the successful completion of this transformative project.
Ho MCE Inaugurates 13-Member Central Market Management Committee
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom has inaugurated a 13-member Ho Central Market Management Committee, charging them with the responsibility of improving operations and boosting revenue generation at the market.
The committee is chaired by Hon. Frank Awumah, Assembly Member for Ho Hliha with Mr. Dickson Agbenya, the Municipal Budget Analyst as the Secretary.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at his office, the MCE outlined the committee’s key responsibilities, emphasizing the need for effective supervision and accountability.
He tasked members to closely monitor the activities of revenue collectors to ensure transparency and maximize revenue collection for the Assembly.
Hon. Adom further urged the committee to develop strategic approaches to managing traders and to work in close collaboration with the Market Manager to restore order and discipline within the market.
According to him, maintaining sanity in the market environment is critical to improving both business activity and revenue performance.
The MCE also directed the committee to promptly report infrastructural and operational challenges such as faulty lighting systems, broken security gates, and poor washroom conditions to management for immediate attention.
Cautioning against misconduct, he advised members to remain neutral when handling disputes and avoid taking sides in reported cases. He also warned them against acts of corruption, particularly bribery, stressing the importance of integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The MCE expressed concern over the Assembly’s current revenue performance, describing it as “not encouraging.” However, he conveyed optimism that the newly inaugurated committee would play a pivotal role in reversing the trend and strengthening the Assembly’s financial base.
The establishment of the committee is expected to enhance efficiency, accountability, and overall management of the Ho Central Market.
Other members of the Committee are, Mr. Sedokem Ata Klutse, the Market Manager, Madam Joyce Norvihoho, Market Queen, Hon. Charles Legbedze, Assembly Member for Ho- Fiave, Mr. Lawrence Awilo Attitoe, Government Appointee, Ms. Diana Kuvordo, a Market representative, Mr. Bright Attey, Ag. Guard Commander, Madam Peace Adoni, Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Prosper Folitse Municipal Works Engineer, Rev. Lawrence Senaya, Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Miss Yvonne Elikplm Harlley, Municipal Information Officer and one member to be added.
The MCE joined the Rotary Club of Ho and the Ghana Health Service for the commissioning of the renovated maternity ward at the Ho Polyclinic. This remarkable project, undertaken by the Rotary Club of Ho, reflects our collective commitment to improving maternal healthcare services and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for mothers and newborns. We sincerely commend the Rotary Club for this thoughtful contribution to the health and well-being of our community.
A joint site inspection was successfully conducted on the Asikuma–Titrinu dual carriageway project in collaboration with the Ghana Highway Authority and other key stakeholders. The visit provided an opportunity to assess the current state of work, address emerging challenges, and align on strategies to ensure timely and quality completion of the project. In collaboration with Mawuleme Movement , we have commenced the fixing of pavement blocks at the Ahoe Roundabout to improve accessibility, safety, and the overall outlook of the area. This initiative forms part of our ongoing efforts to create a more pedestrian-friendly and well-organized municipality.
