The Environmental Health Department of the Ho Municipal Assembly has confiscated and destroyed cartons and packs of expired and unwholesome beverages and food products from two retail outlets and warehouses in the municipality
The first day of the National cleanup exercise went well in Ho.
Following yesterday’s heavy downpour, the bridge currently under construction at Hodzo Aviefe was flooded due to the excessive volume of rainwater.
We wish to inform residents and road users to exercise extreme caution when using the area, as movement may be temporarily affected while assessments and necessary remedial works are carried out.
We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of the community as efforts are being made to ensure the safety of all and the timely completion of the project
The Ho Municipal Assembly wishes to inform the general public, motorists, commuters, and residents that there will be a temporary road diversion from HTU Junction to Nogora Junction due to ongoing construction works on a culvert that has caved in along the route.
The diversion has become necessary to ensure the safety of road users and to facilitate the smooth execution of the repair and reconstruction works.
Motorists are kindly advised to follow the designated alternative routes and adhere to all traffic signs and directions provided by traffic management personnel.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appeal to the public for their patience and cooperation as we work to restore the affected infrastructure.

As part of activities marking the 2026 World Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration, I have received sanitary pads for onward distribution to selected institutions within the municipality, including Mawuli School, Ho Prisons, and Mandanfo Ghana.
The initiative, organized by the regional minister Hon. James Gunu on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang aims to address period poverty and promote good menstrual hygiene practices among girls and vulnerable groups across the municipality.
Speaking at the presentation, I reiterated government’s dedication to ensuring that every girl has access to sanitary products to support her education and wellbeing. I noted that menstrual hygiene goes beyond health, stressing that it is also about dignity, self-confidence, and creating equal opportunities for every girl child to succeed
The Ho Municipal Assembly was honoured to host the launching of Government’s flagship programme, Nkuko Nkitinkiti, on behalf of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council.
This important initiative reflects Government’s commitment to empowering farmers, promoting local poultry production, creating jobs, and strengthening food security across the country.

The Ho Municipal Assembly has officially handed over the site for the commencement of the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market in Ho at Titrinu to Georotche Company Ltd.
This marks an important step towards improving trade, creating jobs, and enhancing economic activities within the municipality. The Assembly is confident that the contractor will execute the project efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe for the benefit of the people of Ho and its environs.
