THE MCE GETS UNANIMOUS ENDORSEMENT
Ho Municipal Chief Executive nominee gets Unanimous Endorsement.
The President’s nominee for Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Stephen Adom, has received a unanimous endorsement by the Assembly Members.
At a special Assembly meeting to confirm the nominee, on Tuesday April 7, all 43 Assembly members comprising 29 elected and 14 government appointees voted in his favour, with a 100 per cent endorsement.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Adom pledged to promote agriculture to propel the Municipality’s economic growth.
He noted that the Ho Municipal area had very fertile lands, which should be well utilized to enhance the lots of the people.
The MCE- Elect expressed gratitude to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work hard to promote the government’s re-setting agenda.
He also thanked the Assembly members for the overwhelming endorsement, saying “100 percent means a lot to me and I will not take it for granted.”
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, expressed optimism that Hon. Adom with his deep understanding of local governance, commitment to inclusive development, and passion for service, would help move the Municipality forward.
Present at the confirmation meeting were the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, the Members of Parliament for Ho and Ho West, Hon Richmond Edem Kpotosu and Hon. Emmmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, past District and Municipal Chief Executives of the Assembly, traditional and religious leaders, as well as NDC executives.
Earlier, 14 government appointees were sworn into office. They took the oath of office, allegiance, and secrecy.
