DRIP: Ho Municipal Assembly receives equipment with excitement.
The Ho Municipal Assembly has taken delivery of road construction equipment under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) with great excitement.
They are a payloader, roller, grader, backhoe, bulldozer and water tanker.
The Assembly is expected to receive an additional bulldozer, payloader, concrete mixers and a tipper truck.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Divine RK Bosson, who received the equipment, thanked His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his vision and making the DRIP programme a reality.
He also expressed gratitude to all Ministers who facilitated the processes from their procurement to delivery to the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and Districts Assemblies.
The MCE assured that the Assembly would take good care of the equipment and use them for the intended purpose.
He said the equipment came in handy to enable the Assembly to continue the road improvement project dubbed: “Operation Let’s Get The Road Opened” already being implemented by the Assembly.
Hon. Bosson assured the public that with the provision of the equipment, the Assembly would make all roads in the Municipality motorable.
He appealed to the Municipal Security Committee to join hands in ensuring the safety of the equipment.
Some residents, including chiefs, expressed joy over the receipt of the equipment and commended the government for the foresight.
Madam Atawa Kuma, a middle-aged woman, told the ISD that she was happy roads at the outskirt Ho especially the Ho-Kpenoe road would be improved so that women could access the Ho Market with less stress.
The District Road Improvement Programme was launched by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in July this year to expand road network coverage, increase accessibility, enhance mobility, and improve economic activities at the local level in fulfilment of the Year of Roads’ promise by the President.
